F2 Groodles

F2 Groodles

Introduction

F2 Groodles have some similarities with the F1 Groodles. But as F1 Groodles have 50% Poodle heritage and 50% Golden Retriever, F2 Groodles have not. They are produced by the breeding of two F1 Groodles with each other and as a result, F2 Groodles do not have a purebred lineage. The letter “F” stands for “filial” and indicates the generation of the dog. The number after the letter “F” shows how many generations back it is from its original purebred ancestors. F2 Groodles are 50% Purebred-A and 50% Purebred-B.

History and Origin:

Groodle’s history started in the late 1990s in North America. When Golden Retriever and Poodle were crossed to produce a progeny with a mixture of traits from both parents. After producing the first generation, there was a curiosity among the breeders. Because F1 Groodles contain imply the mixture of characteristics from both parents. Thus, breeders cross two F1 Groodles to produce an F2 Groodle with a more complex genetic makeup and diversity. Second-generation Groodles boost the confidence of breeders because this generation due to genetic diversity contains different coat types and different coat colors.
